Do you know with only a mustard seed of faith you can move mountains? I know this Scripture is familiar to most of us in Matthew 17:20 but no matter how much we read it or quote it, without any revelation we will never experience the power that is contained in it to make any impact. The revealed Word of God is what will make us step out in faith, in obedience, in confidence and boldness and do what the Lord has placed in our hearts to do, even when nothing is making sense in the natural. I usually have a bowl of coins sitting on the shelf in my cupboard and once in a while, I will pick them up when I want to use them but I hardly carry them in my purse because they are heavy but me not carrying them does not mean they don’t have any value.
And just like these coins, we may have dreams and gifts that we have placed on hold. I know there are seasons when the Lord directs us to wait for certain things to come to fruition but there are times when God will order us to step out in faith and obey His leading’s. So, has God shelved that dream, or have we? Is God asking us to be patient, or has the fear of man, fear of the cost, or other worries and distractions caused us to put God’s calling on the shelf?
Some of you have put aside a dream because it feels too heavy to carry. Perhaps there are gifts and callings that are on hold because it appears they cost too much to use or the responsibility seems weighty, but the Lord says that His burden is easy, and His yoke is light. There is sacrifice involved in carrying out God’s purposes, but when we lose our life for Christ’s sake, we will find true life in abundance. Matthew 11:29-30 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
It’s important to be candid with ourselves in matters concerning purpose, assignment and destiny. If your gift is sitting motionless, remember that it has no ability to move on it’s own. Now is the moment to pick up that gift and allow the Holy Spirit to breathe life into it. When God breathes on your life, not only will you have fresh oil to do what you were created to do but you will accomplish things that seem impossible and you will outlast opposition that should have overwhelmed you.
We are first and foremost powerful with our own Words and actions, when we work together with God. But we have to learn how to prophesy to dry bones which in this case can be your gift, your calling, your business and see them take form just as it is written in Ezekiel 37:3-10 Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?”“O Sovereign Lord,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.”4 Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! 6 I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
7 So I spoke this message, just as he told me. Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as complete skeletons. 8 Then as I watched, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them.
9 Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to the winds, son of man. Speak a prophetic message and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they may live again.’”10 So I spoke the message as he commanded me, and breath came into their bodies. They all came to life and stood up on their feet a great army.
This is the catch, if we had some evidence, if we just had a little sign then as per our natural inclination, we would believe but this is not faith! Faith is moving and acting not by what we see but by what we know. This is what God is saying, don’t worry I am going to give you strength that you never had, ability that you have never seen, favor that will catapult you ahead. I will be real with you, God will never put a dream in your heart and a gift within you that you can’t accomplish.
Apostle Peter didn’t have any silver or gold, but he gave everything he had to the lame man in Acts 3:6-7.Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. Peter carried the presence and power of the Holy Spirit and what we read is a miracle that took place in the life of this lame man, which transformed the rest of his life in a positive way. As believers, we have each received the gift of the Holy Spirit, don’t discount what seems to be insignificant. God will only be involved in your life as much as you want Him to be. If you keep Him in a box, that’s where He will stay but He desires to be much more than that.
Parting Shot: – In reality one of those coins on their own might not seem like much. But when combined with other coins, there is weightiness and worth. Don’t put those prophetic promptings aside because they seem of little value. Don’t believe the lie of the enemy that what God has for you is only a small thing. God has good and abundant gifts for every believer, and value must be measured in light of eternity, not from a temporal perspective. The worth is not in what we can do; the value is when we surrender as a vessel to be used for His glory.
