I know all of us can attest when one or more occurrences that was presented to us, when we were willing to help someone in need but we didn’t have the ability to do it. This can be a normal occurrence for us human beings but it’s not the case with Our Heavenly Father, the creator of the Heaven and Earth. Let’s look at Matthew 8:1-3 When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. 2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Being leprous back in the day meant that one was a cast away from the society, and in most cases many leprous people faced rejection, stigma, low self -esteem , they lived on their own and nothing much would be done to them since it had no cure. Understanding the stigma that was associated with Leprosy, you can be able to take a mental journey of the leprous man in my context of Scripture, when He said “Lord if you are willing you can make me clean”. His Words if you are willing, show a man who had been accustomed to his condition but was not sure if Jesus was willing to make him whole. Yes, He had heard about the fame of this Jesus, He heard about the miracles He heard done but was not sure if He was a candidate for a miracle.
But what amazes me about the character of Jesus is, not only was He willing to cleanse the leprous man but He had the ability to do it. You can be in a situation that seems like how will God take you out of that mess, how can that situation be fixed, how can you be made whole from a terminal disease but I want to submit to you, God is not only willing but He is able. He is more than able to meet you at your level and do what no man can do.
One thing we need to take note of this leprous man is His heart of Worship, he had a choice to approach Jesus in any way but He chose to Worship Him. Worship is one of the most powerful principles in the Kingdom of God, which God cannot ignore. Nobody can worship God on your behalf no matter what you are going through but from a heart of revelation, your true heart of worship is one key that makes up the difference. John 4:23-24 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” True and genuine worship not only touches the heart of God but it also changes our hearts and our perceptions. We see ourselves from God’s perspective and not from what we have encountered in life, the names people have branded us, the mistakes we have made or the conditions we are currently battling with.
Jesus Christ is our ultimate Helper and through the Holy Spirit and the grace made available to us, He is more than willing to turn around any situation in your life that does not reflect His nature. Sickness, failure, addictions, stagnation and any form of infirmity is not His nature and the good news I want to bring to you is, He is willing to align anything that does not glorify Him in your life.People can give up on you but i want to encourage you today, don’t give up on God. Talk to Him my beloved, His ears are not deaf to your prayers neither is His heart faint from your genuine worship.
