First Thing First

It is pivotal for us believers in the body of Christ, to embrace the discipline and consistency to always communion with God 1st thing when we wake up. Am not talking about you just making a hurriedly prayer as you kick your blankets to get out of your bed and rushing to do other things.  No, am writing about intentionally having that intimate moment with God through prayer and meditating on His Word.
Looking at the life of Jesus, He was all perfect yet despite of being the only Son of God, He had a disciplined culture of waking up early where He would go to a secluded place to communion with God. Mark 1:35- Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. The lifestyle of Jesus ought to be our manual on how we ought to live and on this post.

So, what are the benefits of Spending time with God early in the Morning before you turn to other activities for the day?

1.You have Confidence that you have divine backing for the day. You start your day by worshiping God, your worship determines your worth ship.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21. Spending time with God as the first thing in the morning gives you absolute confidence that before you encounter anything, God will make plain every mountain that might stand on your way. Forces of darkness will bow to you, when you choose to submit each and every minute of your day to God. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, Psalms 91:5.
2.God knows that your priorities are right when He knows He is number one in your life. When we give God the first priority in our daily lives, He views it as an act of honor, reverence and respect we have towards Him.
3.Your faith and hope in God is strengthened since you believe Him for all your needs and requests. Psalms 5:3- My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up.
4.Morning prayers help us from making foolish choices. Ephesians 5:17- Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. It is early in the morning when we spend time with God that inspiration, and divine counsel is released.
5.Morning prayers help us to be motivated and give us the divine ability to maximize the hours ahead of us. Psalms 59:16- But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; For You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble. When we acknowledge God in the Morning as our strength, fortress and refuge, you will hardly experience depression and discouragement.
6.God gives you divine strategies- To win every battle you need divine strategies, to offer solutions to problems in your company, organization or clients you need great ideas. Before you report to other lessons in your life for the day, be intentional that your first lesson is always with God.
7.Morning prayers help us to be effective after waking up-Key lesson to maintain this routine is making sure you eat early and sleep early so that you are able to wake up early.
Effective morning prayers are attributed when we begin with discipline from the previous day. God wants you to take care of your body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Acknowledging that your spiritual well being is important as well as your physical well-being, will give you the muscle to be disciplined all round to achieve maximum results.
You have giants to kill, purpose to accomplish, walls to bring down, battles to conqueror, victories to celebrate, impact to make for God’s glory and an eternal kingdom to walk into. So, give God your very first moments of the day and watch Him shape your destiny in alignment with His perfect Will. Psalms 90:14- Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
