Face That Giant.

Everybody desires to move to the next level, in terms of progress in life. Be it academically, mentally, spiritually, financially, career wise or in a family set up. Single people desire to have spouses, while married couples desire children and once they have children, they still desire progress in their own family set up and individually.
In my walk with God, I have come to realize nothing good comes by easy, at times you’ll have to go through tests, challenges or oppositions, which act as refiners for your next level.
Now, let’s look at the life of David in 1 Samuel 16 & 17, we have a well laid down journey, of David and how God anointed him to be King over Israel, while there was still another reigning King on the throne. Despite of being anointed as King in 1 Samuel 16, he never ruled immediately, until he went through tests and trials, which God used to refine him, for the leadership position he had anointed him for.
I believe in 1 Samuel 17, was a very significant season in David’s life, where God used a young shepherd boy, to kill a giant that was a big threat towards the children of Israel. What represented itself as a giant and an obstacle to the Army of Israel, is what God used to elevate David from a shepherd boy to the palace.
I might not know what kind of Giant you are facing currently but be encouraged, the  size of your giant, will only reveal to you the size of your impact and destiny. David’s encounter with Goliath, was only an indicator of how great his destiny would be. Instead of walking away from the giant due to fear or shame, face the giant and speak to it what the word of God says.

Are you aware of how many giants you’ll have to fight and how many people you’ll have to ignore, in order to fulfill your assignment and walk in your purpose??

For David it was Goliath, King Saul, His own brothers and several people who did not approve his leadership skills. However, you’ll never become all that God created you to be and you will never reach your fullest potential in life, if you can’t confront giants in life as a believer. Giants are only an indicator, of where God is taking you.God will never allow the devil to create anything that He hasn’t created an exit for.
Giants can represent themselves in many forms in our modern day like, emotional issues, physical health challenges ,mental issues, financial to relationships, which are all forms of spiritual warfare .But whatever Giant you might be facing today, learn to :-
1.Speak to your Giant.
David spoke what He knew about God and what He was capable of doing to Goliath, through God’s strength working through him.1 Samuel 17:45-47 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
Are you aware, of what God is saying in regards to the giant you are currently facing?? With the mouth confession is made unto salvation Romans 10:10b Your words of faith, will only birth in you, confidence, faith and hope to conquer the giant you are currently facing and shift you to the next level, where God wants you to be.
2.Refuse to bow down to pressure from your critics, to people’s insecurities or tough circumstances, on your path way to confronting the giant.Refuse to turn back to the same old habits, refuse to turn back to that toxic relationship, refuse to turn back to that addiction and refuse to turn back, to any situation that God wants you to get you out.  1 Samuel 17:28a Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.”
Eliab had his own insecurity issues and was not comfortable with David being in the battle field, which was David’s moment to conquer the giant. His criticism never intimidated David, from going back to the wilderness, instead David still held on in the battle field until an opportunity arose, where King Saul sent out for him. 1 Samuel 17:31-32 Now when the words which David spoke were heard, they reported them to Saul; and he sent for him. Then David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.
3..While facing any giant in your life, don’t rely on other people’s strategy in fighting your own giant, allow God to give you a divine strategy in fighting the giant.
What might have worked out in someone’s else life in dealing with their own giants in life, might not work out for you.1 Samuel 17:38-41  So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. 39 David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off. Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine. What worked out for the Army of Israel while in battle fields, is not what worked out for David while confronting Goliath, God gave David a strategy that was simple but had great impact, in Killing Goliath.
As long as God is on your side !!No enemy in hell can destroy you. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31
