Busy For The King?

Busy-ness in life can easily rob us time to spend with the King. I was reflecting how Queen Vashti was dethroned from her position as Queen, just because she was busy hosting a banquet that the King had sponsored literally. Esther 1:9-12 Queen Vashti also gave a banquet for the women in the royal palace of King Xerxes. On the seventh day, when King Xerxes was in high spirits from wine, he commanded the seven eunuchs who served him Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar and Karkas to bring before him Queen Vashti, wearing her royal crown, in order to display her beauty to the people and nobles, for she was lovely to look at. But when the attendants delivered the king’s command, Queen Vashti refused to come. Then the king became furious and burned with anger.
How many times do we find endless to do lists of responsibilities that we end up not meeting up with the King? We have placed our Helper the Holy Spirit at the bench like a footballer on bench, waiting to be called to play in a match yet He is our helper who ought to be in the field of life with us all through. No beefing, but I am a fan of Chelsea Football club and watching them play with other teams am like! They better have the best players in the field. There is nothing daunting like watching a phenomenal football player on bench for months, yet you know for sure this guy will make his team win but they keep on losing.
So ,where am I going with all this, have you placed your Helper the Holy Spirit at the bench and He is like ,”Yeah, I understand you recently got married ,you got a job promotion ,your business is growing in leaps, you just welcomed a baby, the ministry is increasing by day and my goodness, you have so much to handle in your hands but is it not God who has done this all and I am required to help you to sustain and retain what you have?
I want to assure you this my beloved, whenever we allow the Holy Spirit to help us in our pursuit for God, nobody, nothing, no situation and no demon in hell can rob us off the Spiritual treasures we receive while in the presence of God. Our king wants our attention, our King wants to reveal Himself to us, our king wants to make Himself known to us. I mean, the scoop of the splendor He wants to reveal Himself to us cannot be attained in one day, it can’t be attained in just having ten minutes with Him and the rest of our 23 hours and 50 minutes, is at the disposal of other things that deem important yet they are not supposed to take God’s time. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything and that means, there should be time created for God and God alone, where we are consistent with intensity in our pursuit after the heart of God.
We have to kick out religiosity about spending time with God, it’s not all about asking God for things. God is not a casino! He is our Father, our lover, our savior, who desires us to pursue Him for who He is. So, creating time to spend in the presence of God it can be done in various ways like, in worship, in quietness, in reading out prayer, praying in understanding, praying in the Spirit, in meditating on God’s word, in reading a Spiritual book and also, praying with the word of God. This is when we intentionally engage with God and allow His presence to be so tangible that invokes the mantle of His presence to rest upon us.
Let’s look at Luke 10:38-42  Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore, tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Jesus’ response to Martha only reveals how at times we may get so caught up with responsibilities in life that we end up missing out on the most important thing, which is creating time to sit at His feet.
Creating time to spend with God in His presence is not time wastage it’s an INVESTMENT.
In His presence you are not wasting time, you are spending time with the God of all flesh and not man, you are spending time with the creator of the Heavens and Earth and not man, you are spending time with the righteous Judge and not man, you are spending time with Jesus our mediator and not man, you are spending time with Jesus our advocate ,our defender, our savior, our redeemer, our helper, our keeper, our deliverer, our lover with whom nothing is impossible. Jesus is real and He wants to make Himself known to us. Give Jesus your attention and acknowledge Him for who He is by allowing Him to reveal Himself to you in the secret place.
Unlike Martha who never understood this truth, the Apostles had a revelation on how not to get distracted by growth, by service and to sustain the presence of God and retain growth in the early church, they knew the importance of staying in prayer and studying of the Word of God. Acts 6:1-4 Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Here is the catch, the more God uplifts us, may we create more time to spend in His presence. In His presence our faith is strengthened in Him, there are solutions, there are divine insights, there are directions that will make your life, your calling, your ministry, your assignment, your marriage, your business and your career more purposeful and meaningful.
Whenever we lose our touch with God, we end up losing the right path to follow.
How I pray, the Spirit of the Living God will minister to you in a special way to spend time in His presence and if you had detoured from His presence may you receive His Grace to find your way back in this special place.

Love ReinaBeaty.
