Revival

This season is very fertile for eruption of Revival but someone who has had this several times might ask ,What is revival? Revival means to bring something back. The church today has lost its relationship with God. They have been dormant to the things of the Spirit.
How does revival start?
Revival starts from within. It starts in the heart. The heart is the place where the presence of God is. When a person’s heart is in pain (if they have unforgiveness, betrayal, hurt, offenses, trauma), the presence cannot dwell there. God starts revivals in the hearts of those that have a relationship with Him, those that are free and healed.
When a person is transformed, they can transform their family. When a family is transformed, they can transform their city. When a city is transformed, it can transform a nation. But transformation can’t take place unless a person yields to God and allows Him to transform and heal them.
Why do we need revival?
  • To restore the presence of God in people’s lives.
  • To bring transformation to society.
  • To restore people’s relationship with God.
  • To empower believers for the end-time harvest.
When the presence of God is restored in your life, there is fullness of joy, rest, peace, and revelation- Psalms 16:11 “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Why has revival been lost?
Revival has been lost because the church has turned away from the truth and doesn’t allow the Holy Spirit to move. Today the church has lost prayer and worship. As a result, the church lost its power, faith, miracles, and the presence of God. Most churches do not see the need for the Spirit. Christianity has become simply a tradition and another religion. The Lord Jesus has been reduced to a historical figure. We desperately need to be revived. We need revival because the church is asleep. Ephesians 5:14 “Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
Shaking and repentance come before revival.
The revival of recent times will occur simultaneously or after the great shaking. Why is there a shaking? Prior to revival, many things will be shaken; the climate, institutions, individuals, families, businesses, industries, etc. When things and people are shaken, they are humbled. When a person goes through suffering, their hearts are opened. Many times people pray and seek God in times of need. When things are being shaken around them, they become aware of the times we are living in.
Even though many people are facing hard times, if you stand firm with Christ and have Him as your foundation, you will not be shaken. Revival strengthens and restores a believer’s relationship with God. It ignites passion in their hearts and makes them aware of the things happening in the spirit and in the times we are living in.If you are facing difficult times and want revival, you must repent, seek God, worship, fast, pray, and allow Him to heal your heart. We need revival because the condition of the heart in the church is dry. As a result, the church has compromised the truth and has restricted the movement of the Spirit.
The church today is structured to follow traditions. There’s no room for the presence of God and for revival. The greatest obstacle for pursuing the presence of God is SIN. Sin will remove you and cause you to reject the presence. When you are not right with God, you will avoid worshiping and seeking Him.
How to restore the presence of God in your life:
Ask the Holy Spirit to bring you conviction and show you the areas in your life you have sin.Yield to that conviction and repent- Haggai 2: 6-9 For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts.  ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
Repentance also precedes revival. If people do not repent, there will be no revival. Repentance begins with prayer and fasting. If you want to see revival, you must repent and seek God. Worship, fast, pray, put God first, and align your heart to His. Article by King Jesus Ministry.
