Mark 4:39(NKJV)
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
Do you know when you are still you can command any storm? When darkness covers the Earth, when there are outbreaks of diseases, when there are reports of natural calamities in different nations, when terrorists attack cities and politics destabilizes nations, it’s important to know and be fully persuaded we still serve a good God. He has given us His Authority to command storms from a place of stillness.
This is not the time to worry and be troubled! It is a time to be still and rest our faith in God’s goodness and His ability, to preserve us just as He preserved the children of Israel while in Goshen.
So, how will you be at rest ,in absolute trust and faith in God that He is good despite the storms in life? In the book John, Jesus gives many word pictures of who He is. These metaphors are channel gates to your soul, mind and Spirit that will give you peace and strength in the midst of storms in life. All Scripture references I have derived them from (NKJV).
Jesus is the Word

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He is the bread of life.
When you feel empty within you, look to Him for fulfillment.

Jesus is God’s son

He is the light
When you need guidance amid a storm, look to Him for the next step you ought to take.

Jesus is the son of man
He is truly human, sympathetic to our frailties, yet He was perfect. So, when you are feeling fragile and frail, look to your sympathetic Lord for aid.

When you need a place of safety, go to Him and you will find rest.

When you need to appeal to a higher power and a greater authority, appeal to Jesus who reigns in Majesty.

He is the living water
When you are thirsty for something that will quench the thirst of life, to quell the longings, to handle the cravings that seem to overpower you, then look to Jesus and His presence will bring refreshment.

Jesus is the true vine
We must be connected to Him for nourishment for life.

If you need forgiveness, grace, mercy and a fresh start in life come to the author of life.

PRAYER.
Dear Heavenly Father, I worship and exalt you for who you are. You are indeed a good God and your goodness cannot be equated with anything this world can offer. Today, I pray that your faith and stillness be formed in me. I don’t want my own faith and my own trust which are fickle, all am asking is your stillness to be formed in me that I can command storms in my finances, storms in my family, storms in my marriage, storms in my health, storms in my children and storms in my nation to be still. I rebuke fear, worry and carnal concerns that jeopardize my peace and I choose to stand on your integrity that you are a good God in spite of the storm am currently facing. In Jesus Mighty Name I do pray and believe Amen.
