Be Unapologetically You.

Who are you, really? We all wear so many hats from mom, husband, sister, friend, co-worker, boss, innovator, activist, or minister. But let me burst your bubbles that what we do is not who we are. It is always comforting to know we are God’s children and we have been made in His image and carefully formed with the DNA of our Father. 1 John 3:1 (AMP) says, see what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would (be permitted to) be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! For this reason, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. This Scripture provides a clear picture of who we are and whose we are!
To build on this unshakable foundation, God has equipped us with the tools we need in the person of His Holy Spirit and His Word to constantly guide and redirect our steps. Because of your identity in Christ, you can boldly take on the role you have been called to in the confidence that you are resting on God’s never-failing strength with total guarantee, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Philippians 4:13.

Whenever a thought of ‘what if?’ Or ‘can I?’ comes to your mind, be rest assured that God never ministers fear or insecurities, for He has given us a spirit of love, power, and a sound mind.

Let’s mirror on God’s truth in Esther 4:14 (AMP) For if you remain silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish (since you did not help when you had the chance). And who knows whether you have attained royalty for such a time as this (and for this very purpose)?”  Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, “Go, gather all the Jews that are present in Susa, and observe a fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids also will fast in the same way. Then I will go in to (see) the king (without being summoned), which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish.”
From the above context of Scripture, Queen Esther understood her place as a vessel of God’s divine plan of freedom and deliverance for His people. She never allowed fear to define her decision but within her, was incredible strength that God knew would propel her into making a selfless decision that would save the Jews.
When we accept who we are un-apologetically in moments when we lack confidence, we need to ask ourselves bold questions like this, have we been called for such a time as this? God’s purpose will always prevail. God divinely orchestrates His plans giving us the opportunity to serve as vessels for His purpose. If He has called you to a position, it is because with His help, you can do it! There is so much going on around us daily, in our offices, in our schools and in our communities .Too much injustices are going on ,people are giving up so easily on life, there is so much compromise ,people are giving up on faith but despite of everything happening ,is God convicting you to be unapologetically you in speaking truth with love and stepping out in faith and doing what nobody else has dared to do?
Ruth is another hero of faith who confidently made bold decisions. The story of Ruth shows the importance of being surrounded by good friendship and wise counsel. Sometimes, timidity, low -self-esteem, bitterness and hurt, can influence anyone to settle for relationships which are dissenting. As Proverbs 13:20  (NIV) says, “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffer harm.” This doesn’t mean to live in isolation or in the company of few. It just means choosing wisely those you closely associate with and seek wise counsel from.
Ruth’s friendship with Naomi, her Jewish mother-in-law, reflects the power godly friendships. Upon the death of Naomi’s son/Ruth’s husband, Ruth made a bold decision to stay with Naomi saying, “Don’t urge me to leave you or turn back from you, where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God” Ruth 1:16 (NIV)
Ruth ended up encouraging Naomi with her companionship, and Naomi led Ruth to make decisions that were critical to the plans of God. Ruth eventually married Boaz thanks to Naomi’s counsel and gave birth to Obed. Obed was the father of Jesse, and Jesse was the father of David, thus fulfilling God’s will for Christ to be born through the lineage of David!
So, the next time you feel inadequate please remember these four Ps:
  • Ponder. Remember that based on the truth of God’s Word and your God-given identity, you already have what it takes.
  • Pray and Trust. Put God at the center by bringing your concerns to Him and declaring the confidence you have in Him to help you make the right choices.
  • Plan. Be intentional about your next steps, just like Esther. Set out a course of action and be rest assured of God’s faithfulness to fill you with the wisdom and boldness you need.
  • Perform. Dare to take that first courageous step.
Before I put my pen down never forget YOU ARE: –
Isaiah 62:3
You will also be (considered) a crown of glory and splendor in the hand of the Lord, And a royal diadem (exceedingly beautiful) in the hand of your God.
John 8:36 (AMP)
So if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free.
Ephesians 1:4 (AMP)
Just as (in His love) He chose us in Christ (actually selected us for Himself as His own) before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy (that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven) and blameless in His sight.
John 17:19 (AMP)
For their sake I sanctify Myself (to do Your will), so that they also may be sanctified (set apart, dedicated, made holy) in (Your) truth.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (AMP)
For it is by grace (God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ) that you have been saved (actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life) through faith. And this (salvation) is not of yourselves (not through your own effort), but it is the (undeserved, gracious) gift of God; not as a result of (your) works (nor your attempts to keep the Law), so that no one will (be able to) boast or take credit in any way (for his salvation).
2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
Therefore if anyone is in Christ (that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior), he is a new creature (reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit); the old things (the previous moral and spiritual condition) have passed away. Behold, new things have come (because spiritual awakening brings a new life)
1 Peter 2:9(AMP)
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a (special) people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies (the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections) of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
2 Corinthians 5:19(AMP)
That is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them (but canceling them). And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation (that is, restoration to favor with God.
Romans 6:11 (AMP)
Even so, consider yourselves to be dead to sin (and your relationship to it broken), but alive to God (in unbroken fellowship with Him) in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:10 (AMP)
For we are His workmanship (His own master work, a work of art), created in Christ Jesus (reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used) for good works, which God prepared (for us) beforehand (taking paths which He set), so that we would walk in them (living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us)
As you go about your day, hold these truths close to your heart. Let God rebuild your true identity as his beloved child, precious and redeemed. Meditate on your God-given identity until you think first of who you are and not what you do or what has been done to you. Ingrained, old thought patterns won’t be ousted overnight, but step-by-step, replacing your thoughts with what God says about you will change the course of your life for the better.
