Christ Being Formed In Us.

I believe most of us have unplugged from the holiday mood and we are back to our assignments. So, while on holiday I got to spend time with relatives and had a good time catching up, watching a couple of movies but we all had a rough time selecting which once to watch on Netflix. Everyone had an opinion, why we should watch a particular movie and why we should not watch somebody else preference. Selecting a movie that we would watch till the end! was such a hustle. Anyways, we managed to watch a couple of great movies but what caught my attention is how an actor would portray absolutely different characters in two different settings of movies.
Movie actors can pick up a character in a script, act like it but that does not mean that’s who they really are in real life. Meeting up an actor in real life who acted as a thief does not mean he is a thief! They were only acting like it but not becoming like it.
Using the above simple illustration, Jesus paid the price of taking the form of man yet being God to portray His nature to us. His uttermost desire after His resurrection is Him being formed in us through regeneration, renewal, restoration, and growth. Titus 3:5 (AMPC)He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by (the) cleansing (bath) of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit.Acting like Christ is copying His character but the inner man is not being transformed. We can act like Christ but if our inner man is not transformed, any storm, any provocation or success in life, will only reveal our stand for Him.
Do you know all our excesses and deficiencies only point out areas in our lives that Christ is not yet formed in us? When we depend too much on ourselves and our own limited abilities, we leave very little room for Christ to be formed in us. He has no place or opportunity to gain our time and space so that He can gain ground in us. You being born-again yet you are struggling with bitterness, unforgiveness, lying, pride, insecurities, hate, malice or envy, is only an indicator you have not surrendered certain issues in your heart that requires the nature of Christ being formed in you.

Jesus is our standard of becoming the best version of who we ought to become and He alone, is more than able to fix our excesses and deficiencies.

But truth be told, the nature of Christ to be formed in us, we have to be honest with ourselves and acknowledge our deficiencies that point out areas in our lives where the character of Christ is not yet formed in us. Let’s take a journey at the book of 2 Corinthians 3:18 (AMPC) And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from (one degree of) glory to (even more) glory, which comes from the Lord, (who is) the Spirit. When you look at your mirror what do you see? You see the exact image of you right! To bring my point home, when you look at Christ whose image ought to be formed in you, who do you see? Do you see Him or do you see you? Your authority and your dominion are associated with your identity and when your identity is not formed in Christ, there will be the formation of cracks that will compromise your Authority as a child of the most High God.

Christ being formed in us, is what will reveal the glory of God in us and through us and not acting like it

This is my prayer for you, my beloved, that you and I, we will be intentional in pursuing God that His nature will continually be formed in us on a daily basis. The heart and mind of Christ will be formed in us, the sonship and partnership of Christ will be formed in us, the intimacy and obedience of Christ will be formed in us, the identity and authority of Christ will be formed in us, the productivity and finishing power of Christ will be formed in us. Galatians 4:19 (AMP) My little children, for whom I am again in (the pains of) labor until Christ is (completely and permanently) formed within you.
Let’s pursue the nature of Christ being formed in us that no matter what we face in life, our hunger for God, our stand for God, our commitment to God and our love for God will always remain intact in Him not because of what He can do for us or what He has done but for who He is in our lives. There is no greater beauty to behold than the nature of Christ being formed in us. We become carriers of His light in a world plagued with darkness. pillars of His character in a dysfunctional worldly system, vessels of His supernatural power in a world contaminated with principalities and spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

My Play list New Wine Hill Song

In the crushing
In the pressing
You are making
New wine
In the soil, I Now surrender
You are breaking
New ground
So I yield to You and to Your careful hand
When I trust You I don’t need to understand
Make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
In the crushing
In the pressing
You are making
New wine
In the soil, I
Now surrender
You are breaking
New ground (hey)
You are breaking
New ground
So make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
‘Cause where there is new wine
There is new power
There is new freedom
And the kingdom is here
I lay down my old flames
To carry Your new fire today (oh today)
‘Cause where there is new wine
There is new power
There is new freedom
And the kingdom is here
I lay down my old flames
To carry Your new fire today
So make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
God, I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Sing that again, make me
Make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
God, I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Oh, Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me (oh, Jesus)
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
It means we’re getting back on the altar
Let’s sing this to render everything, Lord
New wine out of me
Jesus, Jesus, bring new wine out of me (keep going)
Jesus, Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Oh, Jesus, bring new wine out of me
‘Cause where there is new wine
There is new power
There is new freedom
And the kingdom is here
I lay down my old flames
To carry Your new fire today
Where there is new wine
‘Cause where there is new wine
There is new power
There is new freedom
And the kingdom is here
I lay down my old flames
To carry Your new fire today
So make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me, Jesus
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
