If you are a student aspiring to further your studies, how would you feel, if you got a notification in your mail, that you have been qualified for a scholarship in a university of your dreams??How would you feel if the organization you work for, qualified you for a job promotion you have been trusting God for? And how would you feel, if you got qualified for a certain tender, you have been pursuing for some time??You will Definitely be happy that despite of several people applying for that tender, that job or scholarship you were chosen.
Being qualified for a certain position, a business deal or a scholarship, is always an indicator, the people who settled for your name, believe you are well capable to handle the task. Let’s say, If you qualify for a scholarship, they believe you will give your best in your studies and become a valuable asset in your community right!!!
But what happens when people get tenders and fail to deliver? What happens when students get a scholarship and fail to complete their academic years? and what happens, when people are given amazing Job promotions but fail to deliver??Most of the times, it’s usually a disappointment because they fail to do, what they are already well equipped to do.
Using the above illustration, how many times have we disqualified ourselves, with our own words, actions and disobedience from following God’s instructions, even after God has confirmed to us over and over, we are well able to handle His assignment and agenda here on Earth??
Lets look at:-
Numbers 13:1-3 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, everyone a leader among them.So Moses sent them from the Wilderness of Paran according to the command of the Lord, all of them men who were heads of the children of Israel.
Moses was instructed by God, to appoint leaders who would go and spy out the land of Canaan, which God had already purposed to give them. It came to my attention, Moses did not settle for anyone for this particular assignment, he settled for men he believed were well qualified to spy out the land, without getting noticed and give back a substantial report, which aligned with the promise of God.
However, that was not the case for all of them,
Numbers 13:26-30 Now they departed and came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.
Vs.33 There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight
Ten out of the twelve spies, were absolutely well qualified and they even gave back a report, which was in alignment with what God had promised them “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit but they failed to deliver their mandate, due to the way they perceived themselves. we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.
From previous chapters, we can learn that these particular leaders had witnessed the move of God through Moses but instead of having a mindset of being conquers, they made a confession based on where they were coming (captivity) from which was fueled from a mindset of defeat.
God had already qualified them for the assignment but they disqualified themselves due to the way they perceived themselves. The giants never told them they were grasshoppers!! They themselves declared they were like grasshoppers in their own sight.
On this particular post, I would like God to minister to anyone, struggling with a mindset of self-defeat yet God has already anointed and qualified you for a certain assignment. You think you can’t do a certain task and out of disobedience, you end up settling for something that is absolutely out of the will of God. Nothing comes on a silver platter as we can learn from Caleb’s confession Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.He knew they were well to overcome the giants and take possession of the land.
From where you are to your promised land, you will be faced with giants and trust me when I tell you, you are well able to overcome them, if you place your trust in God and not on your limited self.
From where you are to your promised land, you will be faced with giants and trust me when I tell you, you are well able to overcome them, if you place your trust in God and not on your limited self.
However, it’s sad to note, most of the times as believers, we have big dreams but when we get to see who are calling the shots, where God has assigned us to, we cower and perceive ourselves as not qualified. Who told you, you are not qualified for a certain assignment .if you have God’s backing?? Sharpen your skills, go back to school if you have to and pursue what God has deposited within you. Faith requires obedience and boldness despite the mountain ahead of you.
You know for sure you need to pursue a certain governmental post, in order to channel order and integrity but once you focus on the corruption going on, related with such positions, you fail to pursue it yet God has already qualified you for such post. Who am I talking to on this particular post??
Whenever God tells you what He wants you to do, the enemy will always try to talk you out with thoughts of why you are unqualified. Learn to identify the lies of the enemy and don’t give him room to plant insecurities, doubt or fear, where God is stretching your faith to walk in your destiny.
