Your Harvest

Nothing is daunting, like a farmer preparing his fields on time before the onset of rains, hiring labor to plant his field and making sure he prunes his crops and while it’s harvest time, his harvest is destroyed by pests. I recall a certain time last year in Kenya when there was a huge outcry by large scale maize farmers, whose harvest had been utterly been destroyed by pests.
As i listened to them through the media of how they incurred loses and some had secured loans, with a surety they would repay them once they sold their produce, my heart was troubled on their behalf. They had anticipated such a bumper harvest but the destruction was catastrophic. It was not easy for most of them considering, farming was their only source of lively hood. I could see anguish through their eyes and I could feel disappointment through their speech.
Looking at the above real-life illustration, how comes the crops were attacked when they were almost being harvested??
The above scenario is also a reality in real life when the enemy of our destiny tries to attack our harvest and this led me to 1.Judges 6:3-6 Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples invaded the country. They camped on the land and ruined the crops all the way to Gaza and did not spare a living thing for Israel, neither sheep nor cattle nor donkeys. They came up with their livestock and their tents like swarms of locusts. It was impossible to count them or their camels; they invaded the land to ravage it. Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out to the Lord for help.
From the above context of scripture, we see the attacks the children of Israel encountered from their enemies, were always on schedule. The Midianites, Amalekites, and other eastern peoples laid wait on their harvest season, to strike and destroy everything they had worked so hard to get. The children of Israel were encamped by enemies, who were after their harvest and sustenance. They were oppressed left right center until the narrative takes a different turn in:-Judges 6:11-16 The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior. ”Pardon me,  my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian. The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you? “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family. ”The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.
God is merciful by nature, as reflected in the above context but if you can read from verse 1, you will realize, God had delivered the children of Israel to the Midianites, due to the evil they did. During that time, there was nothing like dispensation of Grace, like we have today after the resurrection of Christ.
God heard their cry and selected a deliverer Gideon, who would strike down all the Midianites. One thing that caught my attention is, Gideon was terrified by the Midianites himself yet God gave him an assignment to eliminate them. God never settled for a perfect candidate in delivering the children of Israel from the enemy who oppressed their progress, He settled for someone who had his fears.
But he had to:
1.Rely on the strength of God, to save the children of Israel from the Mediante’s.
2.Obey God’s instructions.
3.Believe in God, despite of where he was coming from and what he was going through.
4.He had to see the bigger picture of how God viewed him ‘a mighty warrior”
5.Confront his fears
We all need to understand for us to enjoy our harvest, we have to arm ourselves from the enemy, who is after our harvest and our progress in life. The enemy got nothing to do with you, if you got nothing within you that will make an impact in your life, in your family, in your generation, in your nation, and your society!!! We have to be fully aware, our harvest has an impact and that’s why we cannot rely on our strength, wisdom, people’s opinions or our backgrounds, in securing our harvest. We are limited, in securing our harvest.
While Gideon was busy trying to secure a portion of his harvest, God was calling him to a greater assignment that would ensure the children of Israel would not encounter oppression from their enemies, who were after their harvest. Often, we face difficult situations in life and wonder?? Why on Earth are we going through what we are going through?
But let me ask, could it be you are the deliverer in your family and God is calling you out of your cave?? Could it be, you are the one God is setting up to be a voice in your nation? Could it be, God is asking you to stop focusing on yourself and start focusing on the bigger picture to hear what He is instructing you in regards to your generation?? I believe your harvest is beyond me, myself and I.
Please hear me out my beloved, God is always at work and His Grace will equip you for exploits that will ensure restoration, for any harvest you might have lost.
Nothing is impossible to God but: –
1.You have to intentionally rely on God’s strength, to face your fears and be bold enough to secure what is rightfully yours.
2.You have to obey God’s instructions, no matter how stupid or tough they might look in your own eyes.
3.You have to believe what God says about you in His word and not what everyone thinks about you, or your current circumstances.
4.You need to see the bigger picture; your harvest is meant to impact lives, not for your own small, selfish and limited needs.
Under the dispensation of Grace, God desires to restore every harvest you might have lost. He does not want you to remain in caves of your past mistakes, insecurities, rejections, hurts, low self-esteem, oppression, addictions, and worries. Today, God is calling you out to be a conduit of change in your society, it does not matter the values or the standards which have been lost along the way due to comprise, in our education system, government systems or in our own families. God is a God of second chances and restoration. He is willing to use anyone, who is willing to be used of Him, to secure the harvest in our families, in our schools, in the corporate sector and even in our government institutions. You have to be willing to fight from a place of victory to secure the harvest, which simply means, you have to engage in Spiritual warfare.

Spiritual battles, occur on our pathways of harvest. An enemy is looking at the same pathway and he wants absolutely nothing than to stop you in your tracks. If you are facing any battle that is after your harvest, which can be your calling, family, finances, career, business or your inheritance, it’s a high time you stop wallowing in self-pity and fold up your sleeves and refuse to give up your harvest to your enemies.

Just like God used Gideon to strike down the enemies who oppressed the children of Israel, God wants to use you, to fight off enemies who have oppressed your family from progressing, to break off generational cycles that have oppressed your harvest and any other enemy, that has been assigned towards your progress in life.
