Hallo lovelies,
Before I expound more on my title, “transitions attracts pressure”, what is transition??is the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another. We can simply say transition is change, move, passage, transformation, conversion, adaptation, adjustment, alteration, metamorphosis; shift, switch, progression, progress, gradation, development or evolution;
If we are keen enough .there are different transitions we go through in life, to accommodate different seasons that come along, as we grow. God desires us to grow and growth requires transition and transition attracts pressure. Why on Earth would I say transition attracts pressure??Good question, let me use a simple illustration to bring my point home.
To produce the most healthy cooking oil which is extracted from olive fruits, you just don’t pick the fruits and get the olive oil!!!There is usually a process that enhances the production of the oil and the most important process, is when pressure is induced to separate the oil from the rest of the components in the fruit. From ancient times to now, pressure has been the major processing factor that enables the production of olive oil.
The best and most valuable commodity from the olive fruit, is usually the oil and pressure is an inevitable process for transition to happen. So where am a going with all this??To embrace the next level that God desires to usher us into, we have to understand this truth-transition attracts pressure from different quarters. Pressure that will expose our weaknesses which we are in denial, pressure that will expose any character issues that need to be dealt with, pressure that will expose the nature of our hearts, to our mind-set that God wants to work on.
Let’s take a look at this amazing Apostle in the Bible Simon Peter. Peter was one of the closest disciples to Jesus, he walked on water, he was confident enough to challenge Jesus that He would not deny Him however as we know it, He denied Jesus three times. What brought him to a place of denying Jesus, whom He knew for sure , was the son of God, he had witnessed miracles that Jesus performed and he knew as his teacher, who only spoke the truth??
Luke 22:54-62 54 Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed at a distance. Now when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them. And a certain servant girl, seeing him as he sat by the fire, looked intently at him and said, “This man was also with Him. But he denied Him,saying, “Woman, I do not know Him. ”And after a little while another saw him and said, “You also are of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not! Then after about an hour had passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Surely this fellow also was with Him, for he is a Galilean.”But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are saying! ”Immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times. “So Peter went out and wept bitterly.
God used different people, to put the right amount of pressure at the right time on Peter, in order to bring his weaknesses to the forefront, in a season where there was transition. Which simply means, God will still use you despite of your weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Why was there too much pressure on Simon Peter and the rest of the disciples to the point, they had to flee from Jesus after His arrest Matthew 26:56b Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled? Prophecy was being fulfilled, the new covenant was coming into full effect and it was a time where the eleven disciples were to be ushered into full ministry, after Jesus resurrection, accession to heaven and the fulfillment of the promise of the Holy Spirit.
So what can we grasp from the life of Simon Peter before and after the transition process??
1. Simon Peter only followed Jesus at a distance after His arrest Luke 22:54 Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed at a distance however after the transition, he was bold enough to stand up and be arrested for the gospel of Christ Acts 4:1-3 Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.
2.Simon Peter who denied Jesus three times was bold enough to proclaim Jesus while on trial Acts 5:29-32 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
God choose to mold and use Simon Peter greatly, despite of his weaknesses which were evident at a time, where pressure was coming from all quarters. I might not understand the kind of pressure; you are currently going through as you move from one level to another. But pressure that comes along with transition, will always separate anything that God does not desire in you and birth the best in you.
Pressure will work on your faith, on your integrity, on your confidence, on your values, on your understanding, on your knowledge, on your level of obedience, on your level of stewardship, on your level of discipline and many other weakness that God desires you to surrender to Him, for Him to perfect His strength in you.
Here is my encouragement for you today: – Any pressure you might be going through in your career, business, family, marriage or ministry, is not meant to eliminate you but bring out the best in you.

On the other side after transition, God will propel you to handle more than you could handle before.
On the other side after transition, you learn how to surrender your will to God’s will, over your life.
On the other side after transition, you learn how to walk in boldness and do what God commands you to do.
On the other side after transition, you learn there is always greatness that comes along with stepping out in faith and walking in obedience to God’s instructions.
On the other side after transition you discover, you are well able to handle huge responsibilities
On the other side after transition, you are well able to understand, transition attracts pressure and pressure will always work as a refiner, to separate you from dysfunctional relationships, meaningless stuff, bad habits, addictions and wrong thinking patterns.
On the other side after transition and the pressing is over, wisdom will flow out of you, humility will flow out of you, encouragement will flow out of you ,I mean greatness will flow out of you.
I can go on and on but God sees it necessary to allow His beloved children go through some pressure in life, so that we can be vulnerable to Him and learn how to surrender to Him.
