Children are such a blessing from God, I mean I just love kids. They portray such amazing confidence when approaching their parents, before encountering hurdles later in life. Almost all kids from five years of age and below, know for sure their parents can provide anything in this world. Most of them have no rough idea what lack is, they don’t know the value of money and they are least interested in what they will dress, eat or where they will sleep. They have no worries like most of us Adults have.
I believe am sharing real-life experiences that we are aware of. Coming to think of it, Jesus desires us to approach Him with an attitude of confidence just like children do while approaching their parents. He clearly states in Luke 18:15-17 People brought babies to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. When the disciples saw it, they shooed them off. Jesus called them back. “Let these children alone. Don’t get between them and me. These children are the kingdom’s pride and joy. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.”
From the above context, the disciples rebuked people who brought children to Jesus, whom they thought were not important to Him. Jesus dismissed them and reflected how we ought to embrace a simple, bold, sincere and trusting attitude, whenever we approach His throne of Grace just like little children.
He is not interested in your past, titles, weaknesses or obligations you think you have to achieve, to approach Him. He just wants you to approach His throne of Grace with confidence. God is not complicated as many might think, He is after your Heart. No matter how the Pharisees kept the law, followed all the rules and regulations, they had such a judgmental attitude towards others. They did not walk in love, they showed no mercy and Jesus Himself rebuked them because God was more concerned about the nature of the heart than performance. Matthew 23:27 Woe to you, (self-righteous) scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which look beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything unclean
On this post, I will emphasis on approaching God’s throne with boldness. Most of the times we have pre-conceived ideas on how to approach God, depending on how we relate with other people. Sometime back, I felt unworthy to approach God’s throne, because I did not have a true revelation on how to approach Him. Due to my past mistakes, rejections, and my weaknesses, I always thought, He viewed me less than because that’s the treatment I got from people, who I thought loved me.
I was not sure if He would accept me, I was not sure if He would embrace my mistakes, I was not sure if He would even listen to me and I was not sure if I was worthy in any way to receive His forgiveness because I was messing up daily. I had created in my mind and heart obstacles that hindered me from approaching God’s throne of Grace. I never understood His mercies are new every morning, I never knew that His grace was sufficient for me and I allowed things to stay that way for a loooooong time. It’s pretty sad, i denied myself the full benefits that God’s children enjoy, solely because I never approached His throne of Grace with confidence.
Take Note:-
No work of the flesh can improve what Jesus did on the cross, in short, you can’t add on what He did so that He can accept you more or forgive you more. When you ask for His forgiveness, you don’t have to keep on reminding Him to forgive you over and over, receive His forgiveness by faith and continue having fellowship with Him. Jesus is after having a relationship with you and not you having a religion which makes you think, you have to do this or that to be accepted by Jesus Christ.1 John 2:1 My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God’s law. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father’s will in every way—purpose, thought, and action].

I always say the truth will always set you free in Hebrews 4:15-16 Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what He is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.
One thing I failed to understand even after recommitting my life back to Christ is:-It is at the throne of Grace, where we have access and Jesus Christ is our mediator. We have all sinned yet God was very merciful to give us a new covenant through Jesus Christ. We don’t have to use someone else like it was in the Old Testament, where a priest had to make a sacrifice on behalf of the children of Israel, for their sins on the day of atonement. Our access to God’s Throne is not determined by our actions but through the blood of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 8:1-2 In essence, we have just such a high priest: authoritative right alongside God, conducting worship in the one true sanctuary built by God.
Jesus Christ is the only one who gives us boldness to approach the throne of Grace. Take note, boldness is not arrogance at all but it is a prayer we make without fear. We know deep within our hearts God is merciful to forgive us, He will listen, He will answer, He will turn around our situation or He will do what is beyond us. Ephesians 3:12-13 All this is proceeding along lines planned all along by God and then executed in Christ Jesus.
When we trust in him, we’re free to say whatever needs to be said, bold to go wherever we need to go. So don’t let my present trouble on your behalf get you down. Be proud! There is no greater assurance, like knowing God is listening while you are spending time with Him. Your utterance is seasoned with boldness, your thoughts are directed by what God is saying in His word and your actions are characterized with faith. Keep in mind, God constantly desires your bold prayers and not your wishy-washy prayers. Stop focusing on your flaws when approaching God, ask for His mercies which will guarantee forgiveness and move on to have fellowship with Him.
Your flaws will always distract you from approaching God’s throne and you end up focusing on them than on God which I will label as ‘OBSTRUCTIONS’
