Have you ever tried to prepare an interesting recipe and it back fired on you??? You ain’t alone on this endeavor.When i was still living with my Parents, i never liked cooking, i just cooked because I had to. Due to my lack of interest, i never mastered the art of cooking until one day, i decided to try out a recipe i had checked out in a magazine.Due to my excitement, i made sure everybody at home waited for dinner to be served. Little did i know, the meal was half cooked, the seasoning was pathetic and making the matters worse, everybody at home was disappointed.They had to wait for another meal to be prepared for dinner,which obviously took time and trust me, i was the main laughing stock at home. What a night!!!
All i did for a whole week, was to carry out a real self-check because i was not getting any younger.Failing to make a delicious meal as a woman, was something i had to work on. After some few months, i moved out from home, rented a small house and I had to cook my own meals, whether they turned out bad or good I had myself to laugh at.
Eventually i joined a catering class, i learnt interesting tips on how to cook and today as I write, am doing good in this area ,where cooking is concerned.Looking back,am so happy at my growth and interest i have for cooking today. This whole process made me master the Art of cooking, i sacrificed my time to learn, I had to read cook books, try out more often on different recipes to become an excellent cook. Reflecting on my journey of learning how to cook, it also applies to our journey in maturing spiritually as believers, are we willing to allow God in preparing us for the tasks ahead???
In the book of Ruth 1:6-17 Naomi and Ruth had to move from Moab,to a place where they believed their blessing was “Bethlehem”. They faced challenges along the way but that did not stop them, from seeking a noble life, which eventually ushered them into their place of Destiny. God has a good place planned out for you up there but if you desire to make it in life as a victorious believer, you need to make adjustments in the place you are right now.
As a child of God, you should know that the word of God persuades you to go to a place, where you will experience God and learn more about Him. Most people want instant results, they don’t want the process of being molded, they think it’s a waste of time and end up taking short cuts. Do you know it takes eight years for a bamboo tree to mature but a mushroom takes only takes few nights to mature?? unfortunately there is no comparison in strength between the two.Our journey of faith is not supposed to be focused on us but on God,who is going to make things happen in our lives. Give God the opportunity to nurture you, to work on your character and attitude.
Whenever people eat food which is not well prepared, they end up having stomach upsets and this also applies to our gifts and talents. When we try to leave God out of the equation in His kingdom business, people will never be transformed by our talents and gifts because we have not been seasoned properly.Never ever be in a rush to get out of your seasoning process, wait until God ushers you to your next level.
Ruth was not in a hurry to abandon Naomi, she lived with her in Bethlehem until the right time came, when Naomi instructed Her to put on the best garments and go down to the threshing floor Ruth 3:1-6 Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, “My daughter, shall I not seek security for you, that it may be well with you? Now Boaz, whose young women you were with, is he not our relative? In fact, he is winnowing barley tonight at the threshing floor. Therefore wash yourself and anoint yourself, put on your best garment and go down to the threshing floor; but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking. Then it shall be, when he lies down, that you shall notice the place where he lies; and you shall go in, uncover his feet, and lie down; and he will tell you what you should do.” And she said to her, “All that you say to me I will do.” So she went down to the threshing floor and did according to all that her mother-in-law instructed her.Ruth could have chosen to use a short cut,to get Boaz because she knew very well she had won his favor but she waited until Naomi gave her instructions on how to act. The process was not easy but it was worth it.
When God is busy preparing you:-
- He will isolate you.
- He will separate you.
- You will Loss some relationships which are not adding value to your next level.
- He will teach you how to serve-Your dream will succeed depending on the service you give to others.
Service is a seed before you can say it is a harvest
Preparation will help you:-
- Determine how far you will go.
- Avoid making poor choices in the future.
- The pain of preparation determines the passion that you are going to have for the future.
God is more concerned about how strong we grow not how fast we grow.
