Can God Trust You???

No human being desires to be in a relationship, where there is no trust right!!! We want to trust and to be trusted but can God trust us??This particular blog post, is all about heart check. Allow God to minister to you in a special way and let His Spirit change you from within, through conviction.
When it comes to all forms of relationships to thrive, trust is very, very essential. I have never come across a thriving relationship, be it in marriage, business circles, in governance, in organizations or the corporate sector, without the element of trust. Most relationships die or stagnate, due to mistrust, as a result of dishonesty where honesty and integrity was required.
Let’s be real here, you can’t distrust someone out of the blues unless they did something that questioned their character and motives. In life, some people have the ability to be husbands, wives, managers, entrepreneurs, ministers of the gospel, CEO’s or leaders however, they are not trustworthy.
Lets take a look at Exodus 18:16-23 When they have a difficulty, they come to me, and I judge between one and another; and I make known the statutes of God and His laws.”So Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “The thing that you do is not good. Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself. Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God.
And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do. Moreover, you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. and let them judge the people at all times. Then it will be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier for you, for they will bear the burden with you. If you do this thing, and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this people will also go to their place in peace.”
From the above context of scripture, God used Jethro, Moses Father in law, to offer him wise counsel, on how to select leaders:Vs.21 Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness. and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. He suggested to Moses, men who were trustworthy as good candidates to delegate responsibilities in leading the children of Israel. Jethro knew, Moses had his limitations and he required to delegate some responsibilities wisely, to be more effective in accomplishing his assignment.

To God, trustworthiness is more important than fame, talents or gifts, it’s the nature of our hearts that makes us trust worthy.

We cannot be men-pleasers and at the same time, desire to be used of God. What is your motive??God cannot entrust us with His mysteries if we are busy doing things to gain accolades from men.

1.Can God trust us with Money & Success or will it change us?

It’s sad to say, most couples start humble but what happens when God elevates one of them??Why do some men despise their wives and disown their own families once they get money? why do women treat their husbands like trash, once they start making more money than their husbands??and why do some people get proud once they start getting wealthy ? Navigating success is the greatest test of the heart and many people have failed miserably.
1 Timothy 6:10  For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Money in itself is not evil but the love of it is the root of all evil. We should not allow wealth to get into our heads, which will always lead to arrogance and pride. we should all get to a place of realizing, we are supposed to be faithful stewards of the wealth and success God entrusts us with and that includes our giving.
Success is one of the hardest things to handle in life and man is measured by the praises he gets from men. If you allow the praises of men to get into your head, pride is inevitable. Acts 12:21-23 So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” 23 Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.

2.Can God trust us with His Anointing?

One thing I have come to realize as believers in the Body of Christ, God desires us to walk in His anointing but His anointing is not for enjoyment, manipulation or merchandise but it is for Kingdom assignment. Let’s look at Elisha and Gehazi,2 Kings 5 :15-16 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, “Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take a gift from your servant.”But he said, “As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will receive nothing.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused. After God used Elisha to heal Naaman by giving him an instruction that led to his healing, Namaan brought gifts to the prophet, however Elisha refused to take anything.
However when it came to His armor bearer Gehazi, the case was different  2 Kings 5:21 But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Look, my master has spared Naaman this Syrian, while not receiving from his hands what he brought; but as the Lord lives, I will run after him and take something from him. Gehazi failed in his assignment, by allowing greed to take hold of his heart and pursued what his master had declined .God could not trust Gehazi with His anointing since this man did not have self-control and integrity. Gehazi had the ability but he was not trustworthy.
1 Thessalonians 2:4  But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.

It’s my challenge to all of us, to value God’s anointing in our lives and refuse by all means to contaminate it through compromise .God’s anointing is never meant for enjoyment but for assignment..

3.Can God trust us with Power and influence?

Let’s be real here, power and influence are very attractive. We all get to admire or notice people who are influential in our society, however, countless people have misused power and influence entrusted to them by God, for their fleshly desires.
1 Samuel 9:19-21 Samuel answered Saul and said, “I am the seer. Go up before me to the high place, for you shall eat with me today; and tomorrow I will let you go and will tell you all that is in your heart. But as for your donkeys that were lost three days ago, do not be anxious about them, for they have been found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on you and on all your father’s house?”And Saul answered and said, “Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel, and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak like this to me?”. Saul was busy looking for lost donkeys however, God had other better plans in store for him. It’s sad to note after God entrusted Saul with Power and influence, he later on did what displeased God to the point God regretted why He appointed him as King..1 Samuel 15:16 I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.” And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the Lord all night.
Kingdom influence is absolutely different from the worldly influence, God is after the heart when it comes to Him entrusting us with Power and influence to affect change, while the worldly influence, is more of people using their own effort to gain popularity, despite of their hearts not being right with God.
I have blogged about Navigating Our Authority and Entitlement Births Pride, which are good reads to connect with this particular point.

4.Can God trust us with His assignment?

If we desire God to count on us to accomplish our assignments, we cannot not be led by convenience, circumstances or feelings.Acts 21:10-13 And as we stayed many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. Now when we heard these things, both we and those from that place pleaded with him not to go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered, “What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Paul went through all forms of persecutions during His assignment but He never allowed His feelings or people’s opinions to hinder Him from going to cities where the gospel of Christ had been rejected.

If you desire to experience the supernatural power of God at work through you, you cannot be the person serving God when it’s convenient for you. God requires us to serve Him when we feel like it and when we don’t feel like it. Pass the test despite rejections, oppositions or false accusations by asking God for more Grace to stand strong.

God is not willing to give his treasures to anyone, who is not reliable or who follows the opinions of men than the instructions from God. Malachi 3:16-18hen those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them;So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name. They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them, As a man spares his own son who serves him. Then you shall again discern, Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.Refuse to serve at your home church to be noticed by your Pastors but serve as unto the Lord, refuse to work to be seen by men but do what you do as unto the Lord.

5.Can God trust you with the Opposite sex?

Regardless of your status whether single or married ,you need to have healthy boundaries, for God to trust you with the opposite sex. If you are easily swayed away by the opposite sex there are levels God will never entrust you with, due to lack of self-control and self- discipline.
As believers, we have to admit we are imperfect and only Christ who dwells in us can work on our hearts daily if we yield to Him 101%. Trusting God is paramount but how many times have we misused God’s anointing, God’s grace, God’s blessings just because of the nature of our hearts?? Jeremiah 17:9-10 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart ,I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings
My heart goes out to all of us, let’s have a heart check and allow God to reveal to us any wicked way in us Psalms 139:23-24Search me, O God, and know my heart;Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
God is not looking for talent. He is not looking for perfection, He is not looking for gifts, He Is not looking for awesomeness and neither is He looking for people with abilities, HE IS LOOKING FOR PEOPLE HE CAN TRUST!!
PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the many times i have been unfaithful with what you have already entrusted into my hands.Am fully aware, you have assured me immeasurable blessings upon my life but where i have defiled my heart with any form of wickedness and wrong motives,i repent with all sincerity.I commit myself to You and the guidance of Your Holy Spirit. I submit to You all that I am, all my gifts, my dreams and even the calling that You have on my life. I die to self  so that you can resurrect every beautiful thing  within me . Refine my heart to do only your will and teach me how to live a life that is trust worthy before your presence,In Jesus name i do pray and believe Amen.
