Don’t Limit God’s Flow.

God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things, to fulfill His purpose here on earth. Most people who have made inventions and improved the technology today, they were or they are simply fulfilling prophecy. Today, people who have come up with such innovations, have created opportunities in diverse ways and  enhanced ease of spreading the gospel in one way or another, to Nations which don’t allow open air evangelism.
On this post, I will focus on you allowing God to use you, to channel His flow. People who were daring to create inventions like the internet, dvds or ease modes of transportation, were channels to deliver something to us. From such an illustration , you failing to follow God’s instructions and leading’s, is a direct indicator, you are limiting Him to use you in fulfilling your purpose here on earth.
In the book of 2 Kings 7:1-11 We learn there was a severe drought and anguish in Samaria and the King had no choice but to call out on prophet Elisha. He was so desperate to know, what God was saying in regards to the devastating situation which was beyond him as a leader. According to the passage, we are made to understand that there were certain people who were present when Prophet Elisha spoke the word of God. They were the King’s high notch army officials or I would say his inner circle of men, no ordinary person was available to hear the prophetic word..
During twilight or when dark was setting in, there were 4 lepers sitting at the gate of Samaria, who made a choice to try out something different that the people of Samaria had not tried out. They made a choice to go to the camp of the Syrians and check if, there was any hope as the famine in Samaria was very harsh. They were ready to die, if they had to die than fail to try out something different. We need to understand, lepers during this age, were regarded as outcast. Most people rejected them and they used to live on their own and in this particular state, they sat at the gate of Samaria probably asking for alms to survive.
When the Lepers went into the camp of the Syrians, they did leave the gate keepers at the gate, still keeping watch of the city of Samaria. But when the lepers got into the camp of the Syrians,God did the supernatural and they found nobody in sight except ,every good thing they had from tents, horses, silver gold, food , clothing etc. This was such a relief for some time due to excitement ,they had a good time enjoying the spoil but something clicked in their thoughts, they were not doing right enjoying the spoil yet their people in Samaria, were suffering!!2 Kings 7:9 Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king’s household.” They came to a good conclusion to report what they had discovered at the camp of Syrians
It’s interesting to note, the first people they approached, were the gatekeepers. The gate keepers did not doubt the report from the lepers, they swiftly delivered the message to the King and automatically the prophetic word from God through Prophet Elisha, was fulfilled by using the least expected people in the city of Samaria who were the lepers.
From the above illustration, of how God used the least expected people to fulfill His word, it’s a clear benchmark, God can use anybody to bring His word to come to pass. No matter who you are or where you are coming from, there is something that God can do through you to deliver, encourage or help someone who has a need and trusting God to come through. Take this from me, God uses people to channel His blessings and fulfill His purpose here on Earth. It might be as simple as a word of encouragement that will make a suicidal person, change his/her decision and appreciate the gift of life.

Don’t just wake up in the morning to receive;have an expectation to be a blessing to somebody else. Never get into a state of discouragement, fear or inferiority complex that you end up thinking you have nothing good to offer anybody. Looking at the Lepers, no matter how they were disregarded by their own people, they NEVER withheld the flow of God’s prophetic word by not communicating what they had found.

I believe with everything within me, humility is power. The gatekeepers who delivered the report from the lepers to the king, never despised what the lepers told them. Most people never associated themselves with lepers but these gate keepers spent most of their time with them. When the Lepers had an important message to deliver to the king, they knew whom to give the message to. This is a good lesson for us to learn, never to be full of ourselves that we can’t receive from other people. God is in the business of using people to channel His purpose here on Earth.

Step out and be bold, God can still use you to do something extra ordinary in your society and in this Generation
