Stand in the Gap

.
Interceding for those in authority is not an option but a biblical command, which we have to obey. Our walk with God is paramount and we can’t have fellowship with God, without having fellowship with other believers. Each and every church has an Apostolic rank that God has put in place and it’s our mandate as believers, to honor and pray for that leadership structure.

Hebrews 13:17 “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.”

In God’s Kingdom, He is the one who appoints and anoints whom He desires to put in the Apostolic rank because He is the Boss.

Jeremiah 3:15 “And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

Be it a Bishop, Pastor, Reverend, Evangelist, Apostle, Prophet or Teacher they are in such leadership positions to instruct, teach, equip, counsel us with the word of God. Have you ever asked yourself if they ever go through challenges??? Yes they do!! but despite of many trials and challenges they go through, they have made a choice to serve God’s people, pray constantly for us and even some have put their lives at risk by preaching the gospel where Christianity is illegal and have actually been killed. I believe, most of us before getting born again, we were such a wreck from being entangled in abusive relationships to walking in bitterness because of bad pasts scenarios, others were glued in pathetic habits and addictions until you heard someone preach to you about the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel of truth opened your eyes, you gave your life to Christ and as you read this post you know who you are in Christ. All that runs down your memory lane but how many times, do we create time and pray for these amazing generals? Do you actually know the enemy is very clear and strategic, when He wants to attack any Nation he firsts targets the church Leadership, which is the pillar of any Nation.

Zechariah 13:7 Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, Against the Man who is My Companion, “Says the Lord of hosts. “Strike the Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered; Then I will turn My hand against the little ones.

It’s always the devils tactics to derail the work of God, by distracting people from getting redeemed and also for his evil works to thrive In Exodus 2 we learn it was such a tough season for the children of Israel, when king Pharaoh who never new Joseph nor regarded the God of the children of Israel, afflicted them seriously. Out of intimidation of how Jews were multiplying and grew exceedingly mighty he proclaimed all over Egypt, Hebrew baby boys to be killed. Moses was born at this particular time but the Midwives could not kill the baby boys because they feared God, that’s how Moses survived, When Moses was three months old, his mother had no choice but to hide him in a basket and let him through river Nile. His elder sister Miriam aligned herself strategically and stood afar off to know what would be done to him. This case study is very pivotal in the body of Christ, whereby we have to keep watch on our spiritual authority by always praying for them and being sensitive to what God tells us to do.
It’s not our primary mandate, to keep on receiving from the Men/Women of God and not standing in the gap to pray for them. Whichever position you are serving at your church stand in the gap, forget all about your needs and pray for them. You know what? I came to realize, some attacks can be avoided by us praying beforehand. We are spirit beings and before anything happens in the physical realm, its first established in the spiritual realm .Let’s ask God to constantly preserve them, guide them, encourage them because they are human beings just like us and they can also make mistakes. I really get agitated when a Man/woman of God, does a mistake or maybe a rumor making rounds about them which ain’t true but the first people to cast a stone to judge and condemn the preacher are the believers!!!!We are one body in Christ and when a Man/woman of God is going through a trial, it’s our mandate to cover them but not criticize them. How on earth will we win the lost world to Christ, if we are fighting and competing amongst ourselves??
Going back to my text, when Pharaoh’s daughter got hold of baby Moses, Miriam comes to the picture and offer’s advice on who would nurse the baby. Her advice to Pharoah’s daughter turns out to be a Hebrew woman, ‘Moses Biological Mother’; God used Miriam as a channel for Moses safe arrival at the Kings palace, who would later on deliver the children of Israel from Egypt. Keep on praying for your spiritual authority,Pastor,Bishop,Reverend or Apostle behind the scene, as it was the case of Miriam standing strategically observing Moses. Her position guaranteed her clarity to see any impending danger. When we pray for our Men/Women of God, we are well able to shield them from the plans of the enemy and enable them to finish their assignment strong.
The Church is a hospital and ‘not a club for cliques’ ,where people with all kind of issues meet .God is in the business of working on believers on a daily basis including you and me.You will never find a perfect church with perfect people but it’s up to you, to make the church you fellowship in grow and win souls. Don’t be deceived whatsoever a man sows that’s what he shall reap Galatians 6:7-8.

Be a Man/woman who sows good seeds in the church you fellowship, don’t sow strife among your members see the bigger picture of you being an effective and a loyal servant as unto the Lord.

Love You All 💓
