Are you aware living a life of purity in times where the consciousness of people is fading off, only the revealed Word of God will help us stand the test of times? There is always a special anointing that is released when we honor God with our lives Hebrews 1:9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness, therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.
But to walk in purity we have to watch and pray. This is what Jesus said in Matthew 26: 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”. Jesus knows that we will at times face temptations since He went through the same but there are three ways to resist temptation:
1.Be close to Jesus by having constant communion with Him through prayer and reading His Word. When Jesus was tempted, He drew near to God.
2.Stay spiritually alert.
If we don’t remain spiritually alert through active obedience and prayer, we will be caught off guard by spiritual attacks from the enemy and our own sinful desires. Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
3.Have like-minded people in your circle. People who have godly values, people who hate sin as God hates sin. Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character.1 Corinthians 15:33 .Through prayer, God can empower us to resist the flesh and its lustful desires that lead us into sin.
Remember that Jesus knows that we won’t be perfect until we met with Him in Heaven. That’s why it’s up to us to remain spiritually alert and pray so that we won’t give into temptation. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh-Galatians 5:16.
*Pray before you are tempted.
*Pray when you are tempted.
*Pray in repentance when you have fallen into sin. And let me put some emphasis, God desires us to have true repentance and change of mind towards what is withholding us from living Holy as He is Holy Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God’s will) and do the works you did previously (when first you knew the Lord), or else I will visit you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent. Revelation 2:5.
