Reclaim Your Thoughts

I came across a mind transforming article by Christine Caine and I believe sharing it here, will transform someone’s life .We train our bodies to stay fit. We train ourselves to stop bad habits or start good ones. We often forget, though, that we can train our minds.
The enemy is ever-so-crafty, and well aware that most people don’t even think about what they are thinking about. He knows they’ll believe any lie he tells them and grab on to every thought he puts in their minds.
It was life-changing for me when I realized that I didn’t have to believe all my feelings and thoughts. And that it was actually dangerous to do so—especially when they contradicted the Word of God. Scripture contains absolute truth and I had spent too many years believing any random thought that popped into my mind.
Even today, I have to be intentional about training my thoughts to stay grounded in the truth of God’s Word. Here are a few helpful ways to get your thoughts back in alignment when you face this same battle:
Practice gratitude.
Intentionally focusing on all the ways God has provided for you will buoy your mind and your entire attitude. Make a list of your blessings and refer to it often.
Be discerning with the music and the media you consume.
A 2018 study showed that people in the U.S. spend about 11 hours per days consuming some sort of media. This includes everything on TV, radio, smartphones, tablets, and computers. Your eyes and ears are the gateway to your heart! So choose wisely by sticking with things that are uplifting, affirming, and positive.
Remember it is possible to have a good attitude even in difficulty.
It doesn’t take much effort to have a good attitude when everything is going your way, but the true test of our character is how we think and act in the midst of difficulty. By anchoring ourselves firmly in Christ, we can withstand the storms that come our way.
Stay rooted in God’s Word.
When is the right time to revisit God’s promises, wisdom, and guidance? Today! Always today. By immersing yourself in his truth and promises, you can better align your thoughts and attitudes with the Lord’s.
God is able to renew our minds with his truth. Allow him to guide you in truth and renew you with hope!
