What do you have in the house???

Happy new month beautiful people, you are indeed destined for greatness and the fact that August being the eight month which stands for new beginnings, may you experience new beginnings in every area of your life that needs a shift. On my blog post today, I’ll be penning down on what is within you. In times we are living today, people are busy  looking outside for solutions yet the solutions for their problems lie within them
2 Kings 4:1-7 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”
So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”
And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”
From the above context of Scripture, we have a widow whose sons were almost being auctioned by her creditors’. I bet most of us know who auctioneers are, they mean their word when they tell you they will auction your house, your business, your car or your land, if you have a debt which you have defaulted in paying.
Personally!!!I have meet people who have gone through the hands of auctioneers and trust me when I tell you, “it’s never a good experience”. For this widow considering she was the sole bread winner in her own home, her only two sons who were her symbol of wealth, heritage and legacy, were almost being auctioned to be slaves.
Her desperation to pour her heart out to prophet Elisha, reveals she had hit the end of the road. Looking at vs.1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord .This widow’s husband was a prophet who feared God, which means she had encountered the move of God through her husband. She knew God, she worshiped the true God of Israel but at this particular season in her life, her desperation for a miracle caused her to cry out to prophet Elisha, on what she was currently going through. She needed a word from God through the prophet.

Have you ever found yourself at cross roads and all you yearned in your state of seeking clarity,is a word from God through His prophet??You have tried out all that you know how but nothing seems to be working and instead of things working out, they actually get worse??

I really love the response that Prophet Elisha gave her, in vs.2 “What can I do to help you?” Elisha asked. “Tell me, what do you have in the house? “This is where I have been navigating to get in this particular Scripture. He never asked her for what was outside her house but what was inside her house. The prophet did not ask her to look for empty vessels from her neighbors first, he asked her what she had in her own house.
The widow’s honest response in vs.2 Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied. Her response clearly reveals, she never had much value on the olive oil in the flask yet, it’s the only thing she had in her house. The olive oil was what God breathed power to multiply through prophet Elisha and her obedience to heed instructions to look for empty vessels, facilitated the miracle of God to flow at a time where there was scarcity.
The solution towards you discovering your purpose here on Earth, you becoming all that called created you to be, you breaking a generational curse that has been running in your family, is not in the validation of men, you compromising your standards, in order to get what you want or you trying to fit in or becoming a cheap copy of somebody else, the solution lies within you, even though it’s always in seed form.
The education you acquire in school, the skills and experiences you learn along the way, are actually empty vessels that your gift will fill and flow, to impact people around the world. vs.3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors empty vessels; do not gather just a few
The problem we have today, people first seek from the outside what they are supposed to do, instead of having a revelation from God in what they were created to do from within. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 2 Corinthians 4:7 No matter your background, your physical attributes or your education level, they are only empty vessels which should not hinder you from discovering the gift within you, instead they are supposed to be conduits for your gift to grow and flow to other people.
Once the widow had collected all the empty vessels from her neighbors, the prophet gave her another instruction, Vs.5 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels and set aside the full ones.” . The oil only flowed while she was in private with her sons. For the seed within you to bear fruit, for you to discover witty ideas and innovations, you will have to seek God intimately for Him to reveal His mysteries that will set you apart from the rest.
The anointing to do exploits beyond what your natural man can comprehend, can only be discovered in your place of intimacy with God. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly .Matthew 6:6
Once the vessels were full, the prophet gave her the final instruction to sell the oil and  pay off her debts. Her predicament was solved by what she had in her own house. Vs.6-7 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”The prophet instructed her to sell .Once you discover your gift, nurture it from a place of prayer, study the Bible which is our daily life manual, sharpen your skills and trust me on this, as per the word of God your gift will surely create room for you  and bring you before great men Proverbs 18:16.
You need clarity for what you are supposed to do in life????Simple, what you are overlooking within you, might be the answer you need to discover, in order to have a turnaround in your life.

Parting Shot:-The well you drink from matters.Don’t run for anointing if you are not sure of its source. Not all anointing is from God and there are some wells you should never drink from.

Love ReinaBeaty.
