Matthew 14:24-31
But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. and when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”.And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
There are absolutely different revelations we can glean from the above Scripture and one is, walking by faith, boldness and obedience in unfamiliar territories. All the disciples had witnessed Jesus performing miracles, they had sat under His teachings but only Peter was willing to do the extra ordinary (walked on water towards Jesus) Matthew 14:29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. It’s quite evident Peter was bold enough to walk towards Jesus while the rest of the disciples trembled in fear. Unless we step out in faith and boldness , we will never walk in unfamiliar territories that Jesus has already assured us,He will hold us step by step
However something very interesting happened while he walked towards Jesus Matthew 14:30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me! Peter who was bold enough to step out in an unfamiliar territory, was now sinking due to doubt. What made him doubt of his ability to walk on water towards Jesus???FEAR.
Paying too much attention to what was happening around him and definitely what the rest of the disciples were saying, contributed to his fear of walking in an unfamiliar territory. Honestly!!!Once I get to heaven, I’ll have to look for Peter and just ask Him several questions.
Yes the year is still young, God has spoken a word over your life, He has given you instructions to step out in faith but are you willing to stay focused on Him??Are you willing to trust Him to walk with you in an unfamiliar territory and experience what He wants you to experience?? Stepping out into unfamiliar territories, requires us to trust God 101%,it stretches our faith, it requires our focus to be on God ,it requires obedience, patience and discipline.
Take note: Distractions will always come to hinder your focus from God and trust me when I tell you; they are well wrapped with fear, uncertainty and anxiety which leads to doubt, procrastination, comfort, stagnation and unfortunately to sabotage.

Maybe you are so accustomed to familiar territories like the 11 disciples, who were not willing to step out in an unfamiliar territory that Jesus there master experienced .Are you putting too much attention to people’s opinions, when you start out a project, that you end up giving up along the way?
Someone might ask, how can i know am trending on a familiar territory??? Simple explanation,it’s a place where we are accustomed to, we are not challenged to grow, we don’t want to launch into the deep and it’s a comfortable place where stagnation is inevitable.
Whatever is holding you back from stepping out into unfamiliar territories be it in your career, in your relationships, in business or in ministry, our Lord and savior Jesus is standing right ahead of you urging you to stay focused on Him.

Jesus will not allow you to sink when your motive is right in what you are doing, as you navigate out of distractions.Matthew 14:31“And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Take Note:-It takes courage to continue on a certain course of action while success or failure, depends on how courageous you are. This year, ask God for the spirit of Joshua who was courageous to step out into an unfamiliar territory and ushered the children of Israel into the Promised Land. When you are courageous ,you will find your self advancing into higher heights ,you will prosper In whatever you do and wherever you go. Joshua 1:6-7 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
Honey!!!It’s not over as long as you got air to breath and you got King Jesus dwelling within you.
