I Will Not Negotiate.

Happy New Year to all my blog readers!!!Am so grateful to God to usher 2017 in Him being the center of every detail in my life, hope that’s your testimony to.It’s my prayer as i script down posts touching different topics in regards to God’s word and real life issues,He will minister to you in a special way that He alone can. This is my first 2017 blog post , it’s all about what are you willing to stand for, no matter the pressures you will encounter in your walk with God this year.
Once in a while we negotiate to have a deal done or to purchase something at a particular amount,we are willing to spend. It’s okay to negotiate but I have a problem in negotiating my values and standards to fit-in preferences or conditions the worldly system has laid down. Don’t get me wrong!!!Negotiating to purchase a property, a vehicle , clothes or electronics which  come and go ain’t a bad thing. You can negotiate until you get the deal you desire to get that product. So, what do I mean when I say, I will not negotiate my values or standards to fit the worldly system??? Simple!!! It means, I will not compromise my walk and faith in God for something that is temporal. We all need to understand, our lives are so precious to miss out on what God has in store for us.Jesus paid a hefty price for you to walk in what He had already preordained for you before you were even conceived. In Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit (assuring us) that we (believers) are children of God. And if (we are His) children, (then we are His)heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ (sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance), if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory. From this scripture.we need to grasp who we are, what is in store for us and our great inheritance here on earth, as God’s children.
I will focus on two important scenarios in the bible, where two Great individuals made a choice they won’t negotiate with the devil and the worldly system. In Matthew 4:1-11 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:‘He shall give His angels charge over you and ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you,Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
In the above context of scripture, Jesus is being tempted by the devil, whose main agenda was to tempt Him to compromise His standards as the Son of God and fail to fulfill His purpose, which was to save Mankind. From scripture, Jesus knew who He was, He knew His purpose, He knew devil’s eternal destination and He knew very well, He had to fulfill His mission that His Father had assigned Him. Jesus did not have the leisure of time to negotiate with the devil. No matter how the devil suggested to Jesus to turn stones to bread, or his  attempt to try to convince Him to worship him with an offer to give Him all the kingdoms of the World,Jesus stood His ground and refused to negotiate with the devil.
The next person I will use to bring this point home , was an ordinary man just like you and me. In 1 Kings 18,we have Elijah who was bold enough to confront King Ahab and the prophets of baal. During this time we learn from 1 kings 18:4 For so it was, while Jezebel massacred the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah had taken one hundred prophets and hidden them, fifty to a cave, and had fed them with bread and water., more than one hundred prophets were hidden by Obadiah due to fear of being killed by Jezeebel.
Elijah refused to negotiate with the system,  that had been laid down in Samaria to worship baal and hallo!!! He was bold enough to confront those who embraced the system with truth. Jesus the only son of God and Elijah who was just an ordinary man like you and me, refused to negotiate with the devil and the worldly system because they knew who God was, they knew the truth and they were ready to fulfill their purposes for God’s glory.
Most of the times people get themselves negotiating with the devil,  when they try to compromise with the worldly system. You know very well sex outside the context of marriage is not right but due to media and peer pressure, you find yourself negotiating with the idea of trying out, what you know very well God has said a clear cut ‘NO’ You shall Not Fornicate Neither shall you commit Adultery . People might you call names for not compromising your standards but you need to acknowledge, who you belong to and why you will not negotiate with the devil.Sex outside marriage is one example i have used to elaborate my point but it can be your values in school,at home,in the office,in your business or in relationships that God brings along your path.
As long as you are doing the will of your Heavenly Father, you have nothing to lose by sticking to your guns. Be real to yourself and listen to God’s promptings before you make the next move. My desire is to see young people living a victorious happy life, which is not influenced from the outside but from the inside. In 1 John 4:4 Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have (already) overcome them (the agents of the antichrist); because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world (of sinful mankind). From this context,You need to embrace God’s truth on a daily basis. You are so special in God’s eyes, He loves you so much and His desire, is for you to live a life He pre-ordained for you.
Crazy ideas popping up like popcorn’s every day on how to be happy, how to relate, how to lose weight or how to do this or that should not be your set standard of how you ought to live your life.Let your standards be, to live a life that is pleasing to God your creator, who is your reason for living.
As we have all ushered 2017 with great hope and faith, make up your mind to stay focused on what God has set you apart to do.Stay away from unnecessary pressure to do things which are out of your lane. Renewal of your mind, is the foundation of you sticking to your own lane and refusing to negotiate with ideas which are not of God.May the almighty God direct your steps this year in making the right choices which are pleasing to Him, for positive progress in your life.
You are Special In God’s Eyes……….. And The Best Is Definitely Ahead Of You!!!
