Refuel Your Tank.

.
Sunday’s for me it’s usually a busy day, so some few months ago after a powerful sermon and a great opportunity to serve in God’s house, i had an urge to watch evening news which I hardly do. Scrolling for which news channel to watch, while taking my dinner, an interesting News headline was dominating the screens about a young lady who won the London marathon from my country Kenya. This headline for me, was quite unique and very inspiring. Trust me! Many people register, train and compete for marathon events but hardly get to the finish line.
On this post, I salute Jemima Sumgong for her resilience and persistence in winning this particular marathon. She has made several appearances in marathons around the world, from New York to Boston and Chicago marathons but this particular one had its own share of challenges. While on the race, Jemima Sumgong stumbled and fell but this never stopped her from running and finally winning the women’s London Marathon. According to her sentiments after winning the race, she had this to say “I was just concentrating on my running; It was very painful on my head, my shoulder and my knee. But I feel OK now. I enjoyed it.” That ought to be our attitude as believers in Jesus Christ, while going through challenges in life. Let’s be real here!! There are days when you go through so much and you are left wondering if you will ever achieve your goals or let me say accomplish your purpose here on earth. Many believers have given up on God and others have compromised their walk with God.

We all need to know, God is very clear in His word; He has not promised us a smooth life but he has promised;- He will never leave nor forsake us.

I believe there is someone out there reading this post and you have messed up big time, you don’t know how to collect yourself together and finish your race. You ain’t the only person who has messed up, everybody has been down, Hit the bottom and hit the ground. The good news is,our God is a God of another chance but are you willing to embrace His Grace and mercy to rise above condemnation and guilt??

Take note:-The enemy the Devil is very calculating, He is after your joy, your freedom, your peace and he ain’t done with you if you are busy entertaining  his  schemes. Stumbling does not mean God is done with you; it means get up, shake the dust off and focus on God to work on you to finish your race victoriously.

So how do you refuel your tank???

1. Labor for Wisdom.
There is a great difference between knowledge and wisdom, between accumulating facts and applying Scripture to those facts so they become wisdom. It is not the Christian with the most knowledge, but the Christian with the most wisdom, who is equipped to battle Satan’s temptations.
2. Study God’s word.
Make the Word of God your rule and authority and live in obedience to all it says. The word of God will instruct you, it will protect you, it will offer you counsel and guard you from all manner of temptations.
3.Pray!Pray!Pray…. Constantly
Don’t be deceived you can’t live a victorious life as a believer without prayer; it’s like expecting your phone to function with no charge. Prayer is a shelter to the soul, a sacrifice to God and a scourge to the devil. So pray and pray constantly.
4. Just be Honest with God.
Be naked before God and let Him know your inabilities and struggles. Where we are weak He will automatically make us strong.2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. He already knows the struggles you are keeping in your secret closet, which are making you walk in condemnation and guilt. No situation is hard for God to transform, just be honest and give Him the opportunity to work on you.
5. Embrace Humility.
A humble heart would rather lie in the dust than rise to prominence by sinful means; it would prefer to lose everything than to sin and be left with a guilty conscience. The humble person is neither drawn in by what Satan offers, nor terrified by his threats.
6. Put your trust in God
Only God has the ability to turn your life around and turn your mess into a message. Holding on to people’s opinions will only destroy what God has in store for you. People might judge and condemn you but that does not limit God in giving you another chance.

Mirror on God’s truth to refuel your tank:

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

John 3:17

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Isaiah 43:18-19

Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

You might be down, Feeling like it’s hopeless

but

Trust God and refuel your tank

…………He ain’t done with you yet……….
