Regardless of where you are coming from, life is a journey and as God’s children there are stuff that we have to allow God to deal with, for Him to effectively use us. Today we look into the life of Gideon from the book of Judges 6,Gideon was not supposed to be a warrior; he was from the tribe of Manasseh and his story begins from a place of disadvantage. Judges 6:11 Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress,in order to hide it from the Midianites.

Despite of the predicament and situation the children of Israel were facing, God had an amazing plan and a general in mind to use and that was Gideon.
Issues that Gideon had to Break to work hand in hand with God.
1. VICTIM MENTALITY
Judges 6:12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” – the angel sent to him ignored his present circumstances and called him MAN OF VALOR. The angel also told him that God was with him. As a believer you need to understand that God is with YOU! You are a victor and not a victim Break the mindset of victim mentality and know the best is still ahead of you.

2.PAST
Most people tend to make reference of the past and that stops them from progressing.
Blaming people that were not there for you in the past, is a hindrance to your progress. You have to get into a place where you stop focusing on people and focus on God alone

if the people you expected to stand with you did not do that, trust me they were not supposed to. God Himself is the only one who can bring you into your place of purpose and destiny.
3.SELF ESTEEM
Gideon had a low self esteem and had a hard time believing that God called him ” man of valor”. He asked ‘WHY ME?’ then asked ‘HOW CAN I’?
Despite of what you went through, It’s a choice you have to make and choose to believe each and every promise that God has told you, to come into total fulfillment.

Don’t allow circumstances and people define you, give God the privilege to define your real identity. He has called you Beautiful. Precious, King, Priest, Rich, Blessed, Highly Favored, Virtuous, etc.
4.POVERTY MENTALITY
The Midianites purpose was to impoverish the Israelite’s and reading from the text, they were extremely poor.It was a mentality that made the children of Israel captive,yet they were God’s chosen remnant.To break the poverty cycle, Gideon had to give what He had and break the altar of his father which was the altar of Baal and built an altar of God. Before you know it, the physical realm will start aligning itself with the spiritual realm. Words are very powerful choose to speak positive at all times.if a discussion among your peers ensues and they are focusing on negative stuff and complaining of how things are bad don’t make it your habit to always support such agendas, stay away and do something else constructive.
They might think you are being a snub but in real sense, you are securing your destiny by not speaking anything negative towards your future.
