Who are you?

There are huge expectations for any person going for a job interview. Nobody is usually certain of who they will meet or who will interview them for a particular job post. People will do a lot of research in regards to the organization they want to work for and even study for that interview. Nobody goes for a job interview without an expectation of getting that job wrapped with a good salary package. Having been in an interview waiting room before, I must attest you will find all kinds of people, some are anxious, others are confident, some are just cool and collected but trust me each and every person has a story to tell in order to get that job.
How you present your self is what will determine if you qualify for that job post. You might see an organization having to interview more than 50 people for a particular post and only 2 candidates qualify to get that job. So does that mean the two candidates who qualified for the job posts, represented who they really are to the interviewing panel to get the job or what really made them stand out from the rest?? Many people who fail to get the job ask themselves such questions, some will be disappointed why they didn’t get the job, and others will be content that they will get another job. Looking at this whole scenario, in the earthly realm people have the right to appoint but only God has the power to anoint. An appointment can last for a season but an anointing will last for a lifetime.
So who are you??? As a believer, you should not define yourself according to where you are coming from or how people call you but according to God’s word. “Royalty is your real identity” You belong to an eternal Kingdom of God. Different People will have an opinion about you just like going for a job interview, the interviewing panel will always have an opinion in selecting the right candidate for a certain job post, according to how they think of that particular person but our God does not see you the way people see you.
People will disqualify you, depending on how you look, how you dress, talk and where you come from. I never understood that God saw me in a different way than I saw myself until a few years ago. I learned that I was seeing myself through eyes of betrayal, hurt and rejection and in turn, was constantly striving for approval and perfection.
When I learned that these beliefs were lies authored by this world, my life was transformed. My eyes were filled with light and opened to see the truth like never before. I realized that the truth of my identity is how God sees me, so I went on a journey to discover who my real identity was through the One True King. The process is to break off lies, strongholds, addictions, shame and anything that is holding you back from unlocking the door to a new life in Christ.

Who does God say you are??

1.You are child of Light.

1 Thessalonians 5:5

“You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.”

2.You are a conqueror.

Romans 8:37

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

3.You have a heavenly calling.

Hebrews 3:1

“Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.”

4.You have royalty in your veins

1 Peter 2:9

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

5.You are a co-heir with Christ.

Romans 8:17

“Now if we are children, then we are heirs- heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. If indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share with His glory.”

6.You are designed for good works.

Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

7.You are chosen and called by God to produce fruit.

John 15:16

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”

What people see when they look at you is not who you really are, you can still become more than you are right now. You were created for God’s glory.
