Recently I was meditating on how God performs miracles in our lives, even when we least expect Him to. Some have been healed, couples have conceived babies after waiting for many years, others it’s a job you have been trusting God for ages, some might be a child being restored after being involved in drugs, i mean the list is endless I can go on and on.
In the book of 2 Kings 4:8-37 we have a notable shunammite woman who took good care of Prophet Elisha, whenever he passed at her house while working on his assignment. This woman was doing very well, her husband loved her but she never had a child of her own. Due to her notable character, Prophet Elisha did ask Gehazi his servant what he could do for this woman, as a sign of appreciation in honoring him as a man of God. To cut the long story short, Prophet Elisha prophesied to the woman, within a span of one year she would conceive a child, a desire she had brushed off due to her husband’s age and her condition of being barren.
True to God’s word, she conceived a child but after some time the child died. Her miracle turned out to be short lived, as many would think but her faith in God and honor towards the prophet of God; she knew where to go after her predicament. She never complained to her husband nor speak ill about the prophet, all she did was head to the prophet because she knew a word from God would still come from the prophet. We learn that her family still had good relations with Prophet Elisha, as her Husband allowed her to go and meet him. God was moved by her faith, her honor towards the prophet and still used Prophet Elisha to bring back the boy to life.
How many times have people received a word from God through a prophet and end up despising him/her later on?? When people are up in arms talking against God’s prophets, it’s sad to say, most believers end up being involved, in speaking ill against them yet the same prophets are the ones God used to speak over their lives, to be who they are today. The prophets mentored them, prayed for them, encouraged them through the storms but after the breakthrough! they’ve got nothing to do with them.Bare this in mind! In one way or another, a miracle might die and you might need a word from God, through a prophet to restore your miracle just like the shummanite woman case.
To all believer’s, kindly note with all humility Men/Women of God, are not people you are supposed to play games with, honor them as God commands us in I Timothy 5:17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. Our business is to do what God instructs as but not to confirm with the ideologies of this world. One thing you need to understand, nobody and nothing should take the place of God in your life but it’s a command we have to honor Men/Women of God, who God Himself has appointed and anointed.
Nobody was created perfect and everybody does mistakes but it is not your business to judge and condemn Men/Women of God when they make a small fault.Constantly pray for them, to be able to stand and finish strong what God commissioned them. It’s God’s business to deal with people clothed in sheep skin yet they are wolves, who deceive ignorant believers in regards to His word.:-that’s not your job description.
2 chronicles 20:20
So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”
Hebrews 13:7
Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.
