Run To The Cross

Easter is around the corner and I believe most of us are looking forward to having a long break from work or school. Easter weekend has been there since memorial and it’s a time to reflect what Jesus did for us. People are different depending on what they understand in regards to Easter, some it’s a time to have fun, others it’s time to visit relatives while others it’s time to mint money from guys who are on Holiday. Whatever it is you do or you plan to do during this Easter season, let Jesus Christ be the main reason for this season.
Jesus was such a cool person, despite Him being the only son of God, He handled people in such a smart way that all sinners did, was get attracted to His teachings. For some time now, I have been studying how he settled for His 12 disciples. He never settled for the elite who knew God’s law like the scribes, or Pharisees, who were always at the temple to be in His camp. He went on to select interesting characters like Simon Peter, Andrew ,James, John; Philip, Bartholomew; Matthew,Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, Simon  the Zealot, Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot.
His team consisted of men who had all manner of issues and they just had interesting personalities. Looking at Simon peter who was the most verbal of them all, used to be so quick to act and later on he even denounced Christ during His persecution yet after Jesus ascended to heaven, he preached Christ with so much zeal. For every disciple Jesus settled for, He knew how their purpose and destiny would unfold. How interesting is it that He still settled for Judas Iscariot, who would, later on, betray Him and He knew all that.
I salute Jesus for His obedience .most of us would have debated with God, on why we would teach, love and even give someone a responsibility with full knowledge, that person would, later on, betray us. No wonder God does not reveal all the nitty details in our lives, He just expects us to trust, obey and rely on Him for our lives to unfold in His perfect will.
It’s sad to say the Gospel of Christ and Him crucified, is still foolishness to millions who are perishing all over the world today but it is the power of God. As we celebrate this season, I have used the two disciples above, to illustrate a fact that we all need to accept Jesus, is the only one who can fix and mold us. The world can reject you, condemn you or misunderstand you but at the cross, there is acceptance without condemnation. Only Jesus can turn around your past mistakes for His glory Romans 8:28  And we know (with great confidence) that God (who is deeply concerned about us]) causes all things to work together (as a plan) for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.
He has no business in condemning you but redeeming you. At the cross, there is Mercy, Unconditional love, Forgiveness, Restoration, Healing, Acceptance, Wisdom, and Revelation to live a life that is victorious with a promise of eternity. Nowhere in this world will you ever get such promises with a promised reward. In this world, you will only get quick fixes, which are temporal and will never save your soul. People, money, fame or power will never substitute the power of the cross. Only Jesus can heal your wounded soul, He alone has the power to make your life beautiful as He is beautiful and He alone can fill the void in your heart that you are trying to fill with all worldly pleasures which are vanity.
Jesus ain’t looking for a perfect person; He is looking for someone like you to seek after Him. It’s funny how we run to the phone to seek for solutions when faced with crisis instead of calling out on Jesus. That person, whom you think has an answer, might have good intentions to sort your predicament but that does not always mean they have the right solutions. Run to the cross and seek after Jesus, who knows the perfect will over your life. His answer might not always seem pleasing to your flesh or accommodating to your way of thinking but hallo!! His opinion is all that matters.
I challenge anyone reading this post, to be confident enough in Christ and rely on Him through it all. If He allowed even traitors to feed at His feet, why not you whom He has paid a prize for???

Trust me on this, running to the cross:-

Mirror on God’s word to know the truth (AMP VERSION)

1 Corinthians 1:20-26

Where is the wise man (philosopher)? Where is the scribe (scholar)? Where is the debater (logician, orator) of this age? Has God not exposed the foolishness of this world’s wisdom? For since the world through all its (earthly) wisdom failed to recognize God, God in His wisdom was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached (regarding salvation) to save those who believe (in Christ and welcome Him as Savior) For Jews demand signs (attesting miracles), and Greeks pursue (worldly) wisdom and philosophy, but we preach Christ crucified, (a message which is) to Jews a stumbling block (that provokes their opposition) and to Gentiles foolishness (just utter nonsense)  but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks (Gentiles), Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. (This is) because the foolishness of God (is not foolishness at all and) is wiser than men (far beyond human comprehension), and the weakness of God is stronger than men (far beyond the limits of human effort).

Romans 5:6-8

While we were still helpless (powerless to provide for our salvation), at the right time Christ died (as a substitute) for the ungodly. 7 Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to willingly give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a good man (one who is noble and selfless and worthy) someone might even dare to die.But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:6

We know that our old self (our human nature without the Holy Spirit) was nailed to the cross with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin.

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ (that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion) it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith (by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting) in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
